JACIRA S. CARDOSO, editor and translator, graduated from the Cásper Líbero Faculty of Journalism (currently Cásper Líbero Faculty), in São Paulo. In 1976, he took over the internal publication of Anthroposophy and Waldorf Pedagogy texts at the Rudolf Steiner School in São Paulo, maintained by the Rudolf Steiner Pedagogical Association. From then on, motivated by the task undertaken, she became interested in learning the German language, which she did in a self-taught and systematic way in contact with the original work of Rudolf Steiner and other authors.

Noting the growing demand for anthroposophical editions by audiences outside the school environment, in 1980 he proposed to Dr. Rudolf Lanz, co-founder of the School and translator of numerous works of Anthroposophy, the creation of an appropriate publishing house for the dissemination of such literature. After a year of planning, with the support of a small circle of co-founders, Editora Antroposófica emerged in 1981, which, installed in an independent location, began its editorial and commercial activities serving a much wider audience.

Until 2007, in 31 years of uninterrupted work, Jacira Cardoso personally edited more than 30 titles at the Rudolf Steiner School and around 140 titles at Editora Antroposófica, the vast majority with several revised and updated reissues. His growing familiarity with the German language also allowed him to translate many of the original works, now published in Portuguese in Brazil. Access his editorial production from 1981-2007 here.

In 2008, already as an independent publisher, he created AD VERBUM EDITORIAL, a micro-company dedicated to translation and publishing projects for books linked to Anthroposophy and related themes, targeting the editorial needs of numerous anthroposophical institutions and independent authors. Since then, it has produced more than 120 titles, including updated reissues and new publications.
